Enchanted Moon Garden

Posted In: News

Many nights I dream about my very own enchanted moon garden. I’m completely a hopeless romantic when it comes to gardening, so of course it would be romantic to have a moonlit garden. You may ask what’s a moon garden? or, how does a moon garden work? or, even, how do you make a moon garden? A Moon Garden consists of a variety of nocturnal flowers and fragrant white flowers through the whole garden, and usually has a moon gate as a entrance to the moon garden, that separates from a normal garden. Why you want white fragrant flowers in your moon garden, is because the white flowers act as a reflection to the moon, so that they glow in the dark and add a natural light to your garden. Making a moon garden is easier then you may think, these simple easy steps will achieve your very own romantic enchanted moon garden. enjoy!

1. First step figure out where you want your moon garden to start it doesn’t have to be a big area, even area of 200-300 x 200-300 sqft is fine. Once you establish a area then you want to build a moon gate for the entrance of your moon garden. There are many DIY tutorials on building a moon gate or you can simply buy a moon gate.

2. If you built a bigger garden area then 400 x 400 sqft then you have room for a beautiful moonlit pond, which I highly recommend, trust me you will thank me later. Here is some inspiration of some beautiful moonlit ponds;

Add Garden Steps to create a nice path through your Moon Garden.

moonorbs

If your moon garden doesn’t have enough white flowers to reflect a glow from the moon. Add a couple glowing orbs to help with light in the garden, but remember not too much, you want the flowers to do all the glowing.

moonfountain

If your Moon Garden was to small to build a Moon Well/Pond like above, then think about a gorgeous moon fountain like this, to create a tranquil ambiance that doesn’t take up too much space. I found this fountain on wayfair.

Another way to create a natural reflection, so the flowers can glow is to paint your garden steps with glow-in-the-dark paint or use glow-in-the-dark tiles to make a mystical mosaic pattern like this. Love these stairs <3
