The Modeling Industry
- Beyond those luxuriously glamorous fashion magazines and glossies lies the modeling industry: an industry that is intimidating to many and mysterious to most. I aspire to share with you my experiences as a model, demystify the intrigue of the industry, and share my tips for success.
- I am an established International model. I am known for my prestigiously high-fashion image and my ability to capture timeless elegance and grace. From jewelry to high fashion to swimwear, I have modeled everything under the sun… and even the water! Indeed, I have tapped into my “inner-mermaid” and modeled underwater for some fantastic aquatic spreads.
- To demystify the industry a little: fashion modeling is actually a (relatively) recent development to the world of couture. Although haute-couture dates all the way back to Versailles in the 1700’s, fashion modeling did not emerge until the mid-1800’s. Parisian shop girl, Marie Vernet Worth first graced the world in 1852, modeling the works of her husband Charles Frederick Worth and becoming the first fashion model in history.
- For more modern information on the modeling industry, please find on my site important details on the top New York modeling agents. I have also included critical information that every new and aspiring model should know before her first shoot. I have information regarding when to arrive and what to bring (e.g. don’t forget your fashion tape and nail polish remover, amongst other essential sundries!).
- I would also like to explore with you some deeper and more controversial topics in the industry. For example, how does one juggle modeling and motherhood at the same time? For some perspective on this issue, check out an interview I did with the beautifully radiant and expectant Missy Angles. Lastly, for my artistic and literary fans, I have included some of my favorite poetry on the site as well. Enjoy. =)
